Getting Started
What do I need to get started?
Just select your state and high school from our dropdown, then upload your student’s transcript as a PDF. For the best results, you can also upload your school’s profile — it helps the AI analyze course offerings in more detail. Test scores are optional but improve accuracy.
Is my data secure?
Your documents are processed securely and are never stored or shared. We don’t keep copies of transcripts or school profiles.
Admission Odds & Methodology
How accurate are the admission odds?
Our odds are based on College Scorecard data, adjusted for your student’s GPA, test scores, course rigor, and extracurriculars. They’re estimates, not guarantees — similar to what a college counselor would provide.
Do you replace a college counselor?
No — we complement your counselor’s advice with data-driven insights. Think of this as a second opinion backed by admissions data.

What does My School List Pro include?
Pro gives you full access to the Application Tracker, Scholarship Finder, Financial Aid Explorer, Essay Workspace with AI coaching, and more. Track deadlines and documents for every school you’re applying to, browse 434+ scholarships filtered by state and category, and compare financial aid packages across schools — all from one dashboard. Pro is $24.99/month or $249/year.
What’s the difference between one-time purchases and the subscription?
The Pro subscription ($24.99/month or $249/year) gives you unlimited college list analyses plus every platform feature — the Application Tracker, Scholarship Finder, Financial Aid Explorer, Essay Workspace, Interview Prep, and more. One-time plans (Starter, Standard, Premium) are a single purchase for the college list tool only: you get a set number of school-list analyses and no ongoing subscription. Choose the subscription if you want the full platform throughout the application season; choose one-time if you just need a list built and nothing else.
Is a credit card required for the free trial?
Yes — we ask for a card to start your 7-day free trial, but you won’t be charged for 7 days. You can cancel anytime during the trial from your dashboard and you won’t be billed.
What happens if I forget to cancel after the free trial?
When your 7-day free trial ends, you’ll automatically be charged for the plan you selected ($24.99/month or $249/year). You can cancel anytime from your dashboard — no phone calls, no hoops. If you’re charged and change your mind, email info@getmyschoollist.com and we’ll help.
If I cancel mid-month, do I lose access immediately?
No. When you cancel, you keep full access through the end of your current billing period — so if you’re on the monthly plan and cancel on the 20th, you keep Pro until the end of that billing month. After that, your account reverts to the free tier. You won’t be billed again.
